How Do I Get a Free TechnoKids Starter License?
The transition to the new TechnoHub will be simple. Most TechnoKids customers will not need to take any action to access the upgraded TechnoHub. When the new platform launches, you’ll receive an email notification. Just use your existing credentials to sign in to your account.
Why Might I Not Qualify for a Free TechnoKids Starter License?
We understand our customers want a free TechnoKids Starter License. To check if you qualify, sign into the current TechnoHub. If you can, then rest assured, you will be able to access the new TechnoHub when it launches.
There are a few reasons why a TechnoKids customer would not qualify for a complimentary TechnoKids Starter License such as:
- your school does not have an active account on the current TechnoHub.
- the projects you purchased were retired many years ago and are not available on the current TechnoHub.
- the projects you purchased are for an older version of Microsoft Office (e.g., 2007, 2010), which are not available on the current TechnoHub.
- the TechnoKids Curriculum you have is on a CD, DVD, or USB stick.
Will I Need to Subscribe to Use TechnoKids Courses?
As you know, in the past TechnoKids previously offered customers a perpetual license. Your existing site license agreement for TechnoKids Curriculum remains in effect, with all terms and conditions still applicable. You can continue to use TechnoKids projects with your students indefinitely without any additional requirements. A subscription is only necessary if you wish to access online course features or new interactive courses. There’s no need to subscribe immediately. Loyal customers will receive a complimentary one-year TechnoKids Starter License. You will only need to subscribe starting in the 2025-2026 school year.
What Happens to My Bookshelf When TechnoHub Upgrades?
With the launch of the enhanced TechnoHub, the static bookshelf will be permanently discontinued. Downloading TechnoKids projects will no longer be available. Instead, you’ll access everything through the new TechnoHub. It offers online access to all course materials including teacher guides, workbooks, and resources, along with many advanced features such as interactive curriculum standards, course slides, and more. Will I Be Able to Get New TechnoKids Projects for Free?
Many TechnoKids customers have acquired Curriculum Collections over the years. Currently, TechnoHub automatically updates their bookshelf with new projects and upgrades. However, this feature will no longer be available after the transition. Moving forward, TechnoKids will focus on creating online courses with interactive, dynamic content that cannot be provided through a static platform. New TechnoKids Courses will only be accessible through the enhanced TechnoHub. If you’ve previously purchased a TechnoKids Curriculum Collection, you’ll be able to access the new and upgraded courses with your complimentary one-year TechnoKids Starter License.
Since the Courses Are Online, Can I Print Student Workbooks?
The TechnoKids Starter License includes a student workbook. However, it is on-screen only. You cannot print the assignments. However, the reviews and skill reviews are still available as Word files that can be downloaded and printed. This change addresses the print restrictions frequently imposed by school administrators. To better support our customers, TechnoKids has developed Course Slides, which convert each page of the student workbook into dynamic, engaging slides. These presentation files will aid in guiding students during instruction. Additionally, upcoming Class, Classrooms, and School licenses will provide student accounts featuring personal online workbooks, automatic quiz grading, and more!
Can I Distribute Worksheets using Google Classroom?
The TechnoKids Starter License includes a student workbook. However, it is on-screen only. You will not be able to download a PDF worksheet of an assignment and then upload it to a shared school directory. This change is based on customers’ feedback that this process was too complex. To address these needs, Phase 2 will introduce Class, Classrooms, and School Licenses with student accounts. These accounts will provide students with access to a personal workbook, online assignments, automatic quiz grading, and additional features. In the meantime, you will still have access to downloadable digital files for reviews and skill assessments, as well as Course Slides to support student instruction.
Can I Distribute Samples or Templates with Google Classroom?
Yes, you can. Access to samples and templates is instant in the enhanced TechnoHub. You will be able to preview any file directly in the Course Window. Just click the Download button, to access a copy of the file to share with your students.
When Will the Student Accounts be Available in TechnoHub?
The enhanced TechnoHub is being introduced in phases. Phase 2 will include class management tools and student accounts. We are aiming to launch the Class, Classrooms, and School Licenses at the beginning of 2025. Our development team is still finalizing the advanced reporting features and requires a bit more time to ensure everything is fully prepared for you. We can’t wait to have your school transition to the new TechnoHub.
